How these leonin names are built

Lion-folk of a sun-and-savannah setting should sound nothing like a forest race, so this grammar is built for carrying distance rather than for precision. The onsets are open-throated (h, k, kh) or liquid (r, l, m, n), the vowels run long and back, and there are no clicking codas at all: a leonin name finishes on a vowel or on a single -n, which is a sound you can hold.

Given-name endings carry meaning and gender.
