How these guild names are built

Real medieval guilds were named for their trade and dressed the name up with a charter word: the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers. This generator does the same with twenty invented-but-plausible trades (Lamplighters, Bellfounders, Tomb-Wardens, Spellwrights), ten charter words (Guild, Company, Brotherhood, Consortium, Compact) and fourteen glossed adjectives, so The Honest Guild of Cutpurses arrives with its joke intact.

Symbolic societies name themselves for an object (The Order of the Silent Key, The Lantern and Ledger), the pattern secret societies and mages’ circles favour; each object carries a hint about what the society is really for.

Adventuring companies are named like sports teams or bands: The Grey Lanterns, Harrow’s Hounds, The Fellowship of the Ember. The founder-possessive form (Old Brannock’s Ravens) is the most common in real play and the least common in generators, so it is weighted up here.
