How these nord names are built

Nord names in the style of Skyrim are Norse names simplified for a game: h, r, b, g and s onsets, a and o vowels, codas of r, n and d, and endings that any English speaker can say. This generator builds two syllables from that inventory with glossed endings: -ar (warrior), -ulf (wolf), -mund (protector), -grim (masked), -jorn (bear) for men; -a (fair), -hild (battle), -run (secret), -veig (strength), -gerd (enclosure), -ny (new) for women.

The hyphenated epithet is the signature of the style: Snow-Hammer, Grey-Mane, Battle-Born, Sea-Strider. Twenty original epithets here, each glossed, so Brunhild Ice-Veins tells you something about the woman. The family form adds a patronymic instead, agreeing with the given name’s gender.
