How these vampire names are built
Vampire names in the genre come from an imagined old Europe: Latinate and Slavic-flavoured, with v and l onsets, long vowels and dignified endings (-ius, -imir, -ova). This generator builds from that inventory, kept elegant with light clusters, so the names sound like they were once fashionable.
Endings carry a gloss: -ius (of the old blood), -an (the sleepless), -ard (the hunter), -imir (the count), -os (the pale), -ent (the patient) read masculine; -a (the pale lady), -ina (the sleepless), -iel (the mourned), -ette (the young forever), -issa (the widow), -ova (of the old house) read feminine.
Houses are invented noble families with the right texture: Vaszary, Corvinus, Ravenscar, Karnstein, Lasombra, de Wynter. Titles run from Count and Countess to Baron, Elder and Voivode, and follow the given name’s gender.
Dracula, Carmilla, Lestat and the other famous undead are blocked so your vampire is your own.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to what players and writers ask us most
Should a vampire keep their mortal name?
Old vampires usually keep the given name and change the house every century or so, which is what the Given + house style models. For a recently turned vampire, take a name from the Human generator instead.
Do these work for modern vampire settings?
Yes. The given names read as old-fashioned in a modern city, which is the effect most urban fantasy wants. Drop the title.
Are any of these from books or games?
No. The famous ones are blocked. A few house names borrow real place-name elements (Ravenscar, Blackthorn), which is how such names formed.
Free to use?
Yes, freely.
