Argonian Name Generator

Argonians name three ways: a sibilant name in their own tongue, a hyphenated root-name, or a name translated into a phrase. Every result comes glossed.

How these argonian names are built

Argonian names in the style of the setting are sibilant: s, sh and t onsets, the long ee, and soft closes on s or n. This generator builds two or three syllables from that inventory with glossed endings: -us (of the root), -ei (hatched in spring), -ax (sharp-scaled) for males; -a (of the marsh), -eeta (bright-eyed), -ish (quick) for females; -ees (many-scaled) for either.

Hyphenated names join two native elements (Meesh-Dar, Okan-Jee), each glossed. Translated names render the meaning into a three-word phrase with a verb (Swims-Under-Root, Watches-at-Dusk), the form outsiders find easiest to say and the one with the most character in it.

Named characters from the games are blocked; the root-names and phrases here are original.
